Resident Good evening The Delves neighbourhood team have been out and about all over the neighbourhood during our set of shifts conducting patrols and attending various events and operations with partner agencies.
Delves Officers attended the local councillor surgery at the Church Gillity avenue.
Officers attended The St Nicholas Day event at Nashdom a great event for the whole community.
On Saturday 6th December 2025 Officers from the Delves neighbourhood team joined FazAmesty who returned to Walsall following their visit in the summer as part of the law change around Samurai and ceremonial swords. FazAmnesty who are based in Enfield, North London operate a secure mobile weapons surrender van and conduct community outreach work around violence and knife crime, they conduct work across the UK and work with police forces nationwide and have also recently received sponsorship from Axon. Although arranged by the West Midands Police Serious Youth Violence co-ordinator for Walsall LPA, PC Leigh Thompson-Clarke, this was an opportunity for partnership working and to bring together local organisations with local knife crime charity James Brindley Foundation attending along with Youth Connect who operate a youth club in Pleck and also conduct outreach work in Palfrey Park. This provided valuable insight and local knowledge to ensure maximum opportunities to engage. Starting in Palfrey park FazA were given a guided tour of Palfrey, and Caldmore. They then engaged with members of the community and recovered 3 weapons. After night fall FazAmnesty moved to Wednesbury road, Pleck High Street where they engaged with Youth Connect, local businesses and residents resulting in the recovery of a further 2 weapons. In total 5 weapons were recovered and the weapons taken out of circulation preventing them from falling into the hands of people who wish to cause harm in the community, this is potentially 5 lives saved and five families spared the devastating effects of knife crime. The weapons were handed over to officers at Bloxwich Police station at the end of the day to be destroyed.
Officers from the Delves neighbourhood team joined Walsall trading standards along with Brand Ambassadors at Bescot Sunday Market. A large quantity of clothing was recovered along with electrical items.
Delves officers stopped a vehicle upon acting suspicious, after a search a small quantity of cannabis was located and a cannabis grinder. The vehicle was also seized for no insurance.
A vehicle tried to make off from officers in Chuckery but did not get far, upon a search of the vehicle a large quantity of drugs was located, along with two Knives. Arrest Made.
Please try not to leave anything of value in your vehicle. We have had a vehicle broken into and Bank cards Stolen.
It is getting dark now at just after 4pm when some residents are still at work, please consider a light timer to give the illusion the house is occupied.
As usual with lots of logs and other commitments it has been another busy week.
But as usual a huge thank you to all of our communities for the help and support you give us.
